ORDERS

The contractual obligations of the parties are governed by these general terms and conditions of sale. By sending an order form, the customer agrees to them without reservation or derogation. By accepting the general terms and conditions of sale, the customer ordering on the website confirms that he or she is at least 18 years old.

DELIVERY TIMES AND METHODS

Unless otherwise specified or in the event of temporary unavailability, products are delivered within 10 working days in Switzerland and according to postal delivery times in the rest of the world. Delivery is deemed completed upon postal dispatch with proof of shipment. It is the recipient’s responsibility to check shipments on arrival and to make all justified reservations and claims. Where applicable, these may be sent to the company by registered letter or email within 5 days of receipt of the goods. We send goods with a signature required on receipt by the recipient, so as to keep a trace of the parcel at all times in the event of non-delivery (theft, loss...). Prices include VAT, excluding shipping costs. Any customs charges for deliveries outside Switzerland are borne by the customer. Before ordering, the customer must find out about the laws in force in his or her country concerning the import of knives. The customer is therefore responsible for the contents of the parcel, and Fontaine et cie Sa cannot be held liable if a parcel is held by customs. The customer cannot be refunded the amount of a seized item. Free delivery for a purchase of more than CHF 200.- is handled by Swiss Post and its partners abroad. Surcharges linked to a special shipping request (Fedex, TNT...) are borne by the customer,

RIGHT OF WITHDRAWAL

The customer has 7 days from receipt of the order to exercise the right of withdrawal, without having to give a reason or pay any penalty. Return costs are free: a return label is provided on request at info@couteaux-fontaine.com. When the 7-day period ends on a Saturday, a Sunday or a public holiday, it is extended to the next working day. The refund is made no later than 10 working days after receipt and inspection of the returned item. This right does not apply to made-to-measure items, to special orders expressly requested by the customer, or to engravings. The goods must under no circumstances be used or returned in a condition different from that in which they were received on delivery. For deliveries within the European Union, the statutory period of 14 days applies.

PAYMENT TERMS

Our items can be paid for

-by VISA or EUROCARD bank card, by giving us your details by telephone (first name and surname on the card, card number, expiry date, CV2 on the back of the card). We have a PHONE ORDER contract with these providers, which allows us to debit a card with the customer’s authorisation and verbal agreement.

-by bank transfer to our account after we send our invoice.

-by postal transfer in Switzerland after we send our invoice.

RETENTION OF TITLE

The transfer of ownership of the delivered goods is subject to full payment of the invoice sent beforehand. If payment is not made by the stated due date (30 days), the seller will cancel the invoice and the customer will then have to place a new order in order to obtain the goods.

WARRANTY

The company guarantees the products against any hidden or defective manufacturing fault for one year (except Swiss Army knives, which are guaranteed for life) from the date of the order. The product must be returned to us by the customer. It will be exchanged or repaired. This contractual warranty excludes damage or malfunctions caused by your own actions or arising from normal wear, a natural phenomenon or an accident. The manufacturer will decide whether the repair is carried out free of charge or not.
