Collection: Spyderco

Spyderco is an American cutlery brand founded in 1976 by Sal and Gail Glesser, based in Golden, Colorado

Origins and key innovations

The first model: The C01 Worker, launched in 1981, marks the real beginning of the modern folding knife at the brand.

The hole in the blade (Spidey Hole): It allows quick, one-handed opening, for right-handed and left-handed users alike.

The pocket clip: Spyderco was one of the pioneers in popularising the clip attached to the handle for carrying the knife in the pocket.

The serrated option: One of the first brands to offer partially or fully serrated blades in series production.

Features and reputation

Unconventional design: Their knives put ergonomics, functionality and raw performance ahead of classic aesthetics.

High-tech steels: The brand is recognised for its expertise in modern and powder metallurgy steels (such as VG-10, M390 or its proprietary steel SPY27).

Emblematic models: The Paramilitary 2, the Para 3, the Endura 4 and the small Tenacious are among the essential references in the world of EDC (EveryDay Carry).

International manufacturing: Although designed in the United States, their knives are produced in several countries renowned for their cutlery expertise, notably Japan (Seki), Taiwan, Italy, the United States and China.
